    How To Run a SmartR 2.0 Report

    1.      Open Imanami SmartR 2.0- Connection

    ·         Connect to a server > Specify connection information.  SmartR includes reports for Exchange 2000, and Active Directory.

    ·         Enter the server name >Enter the server name or IP address that you want to create a report from as shown in Figure 2. If LDAP is running on a port other than 389, add a colon to the end of the server name or IP address and then specify the port number.

    ·         Connect as...If you would like to connect to the server using different credentials than the ones you are currently logged in as, check "Connect as…".

    ·         Username > Username SmartR should use for the connection.

    ·         Domain > Domain in which the previously specified username resides.

    ·         Password > Specify the user's password.

    ·         Select Report > SmartR connects to the server and determines what reports are compatible with the server and identifies the server being used (2000 or Active Directory). SmartR then presents you with a list of reports you may run against the server. Select a report and Next to continue.

    ·         Get More > Additional report packs are available for SmartR.  Click the Get More button for more information.

    2.      Select a view

    Once you have selected a report, SmartR presents you with a list of views available for the report. Views define the style and format of the report. Depending on which report you select you will receive up to four different formats as shown. Select a report view and Next to continue.

    ·         Web page (HTML)

    ·         Microsoft Excel (XLS)

    ·         CSV format (CSV)

    ·         XML format (XML)

    3.      Define scope

    The scope defines the starting location for the query and whether to search sub containers. SmartR can search one specific container by selecting One Level or you can allow it to search the specified container and all sub containers by selecting Subtree. Select the Start Container and Scope to continue.

    4.      Enter the start container

    Select the starting container for the query.  Click Browse to select.

    5.      Edit the LDAP filter

    LDAP filter used to select the items to be displayed in the report.  Report templates always specify a default filter.  You can add additional criteria to the filter but it must be in LDAP form.  See LDAP Resources for more information.

    ·         Scope > Scope defines whether to search sub container or not.

    ·         Customize report > You can give your report your own title and filename. You can also select where the report will be saved. Select Next to continue.

    ·         Report Title > Specify the title for your report.  This will be displayed at the top of the report.

    ·         Save Report > Specify the path and filename for the report.  Click Browse to select a location.

    6.      Confirm Selections > SmartR will display your selections.  If everything is correct click Next to run the report, otherwise click Back to correct any information.

    Once the report is complete, SmartR will automatically proceed to the next step.

    7.      Finished > Your report has been created.  Click Finish to view your report.

    Save current settings as default > Check this box to save your settings.
