Description:
Group owners can mistakenly delete groups from Active Directory by selecting the “delete” option from the action drop-down list on the search results page.
Although WebDir provides sufficient protection against accidental deletion by displaying a confirmation dialogue box but it still can be accident-prone for some users.
There is another method to remove this risk altogether for groups. The delete key can be removed from the action drop-down list. To do this, follow these steps:
· Go to WebDir’s system manager.
· Go to the “Settings” tab.
· Click “Add”.
· In the “Key” field of the Add Setting dialog box, type “Group.OwnerDelete”.
· In the “Value” field, type a numeric value of “0”.
The above setting will remove the delete key in action menu for all users including group owners, with the exception of Administrators and Helpdesk personnel..
