    WebDir 4.0 Errors

    Hello!

Last week I installed the evaluation of WebDir 4.0. Everything seemed to be working fine last week and now that I need to present it to my VP of course there are issues :) Here are the problems I am seeing:

    1) When I log in as a regular user and make a new group, it makes the group but does not set the user creating the group as the owner of the group. I get this error:

    Failed to create object.
    Error number: <0x80072030>
Description: There is no such object on the server.
    Source: Imanami.DirectoryServices

Last week when I did this I would simply get a success message. Again, the group is still created and I receive notifications for this creation as usual, however the owner portion is failing. When I create a group as an admin user there are no issues.

    2) When a user opts in or out of a semi private group, when the owner accepts this request the owner receives an error:

    Request [d4595ed0-1b2e-448e-9f29-55b3cd7b3172] not found.

However the change still takes effect and notifications go out as expected. I have checked the request folder (C:\Program Files\Imanami\WebDir4\inetpub\webdir4\request) on the WebDir box, the request file exists and the WebDir service user has full rights to this folder so I do not think an issue lies there. I did not get a chance to test this functionality last week so I do not know if it was working as expected then.

    3) When a regular user attempts to change their password they receive this error:

Your password has not been changed, please try again. A constraint violation occurred. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007202F)

I have tried with several different users and have verified that the password adhere to our AD restrictions. However, resetting a password as an admin user generates no errors and works as expected.

It should be noted that the application log on the WebDir IIS box is completely free or errors as is the AD box that WebDir is connected to. If we could get these issues cleared up we would be very happy to consider a purchase of WebDir!! Looking forward to your assistance, thanks!

    Re: WebDir 4.0 Errors

    Hi Eric,

Is it possible that the service account specified in WebDir has been modified?  It sounds like it does not have permission to set owner. Are the users your testing with in the same domain as the proxy account (and target domain)?
