    Dynasty based on homeDirectory

I am trying to create a Dynasty based on the homeDirectory attribute. What I am trying to accomplish is to have the child groups only contain the server name and not the entire string.

    Dynasty Name: File_Print

    Filter:
        (homeDirectory=*some-string*)

I have a GroupBy Filter set so it only grabs the Left 13 characters but that also includes "\\" in the name.

    ie. File_Print \\machinename

What I would like do is exclude the leading 2 characters so the name appears as "File_Print machinename"

I have been unable to accomplish this...is it possible?

    Hello rotondim,

At this time, SmartDL will not support the naming convention that you would like displayed for the child list based on the example that was provided in your post.  However, we do have a feature request to use the "With" filter (%GROUPBY% \*) to throw out values to the left of the separator (*\%GROUPBY%) which is being considered for a future release of Imanami GroupID.  If you have an idea on how you would like to see this feature work or new features that you would like to see in a future release, please contact Imanami Client Services by calling 925-273-2909 or email:roger.manson@imanami.com to submit your request.

Brief description of the current SmartDL 4.0 "With" filter:

With - Use this filter.  Use "With" when you have a character separator.  Create a group for each distinct value of the portion of the attribute selected.  %GROUPBY% represents the significant portion of the value and the * represents the insignificant portion of the value (the part that is thrown out).  The default filter, "%GROUPBY%/*", throws out any part of the value that occurs after the slash (/) including the slash or separator that is being used in your data.

Please post back with questions you have about the information provided above.  Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
