Is there an issue with modifying the name of a already created Dynasty or Smart DL Group?  If the default naming convention is accepted it is possible for the DL name to get rather large (depending on what the grouping is).  For example, say you create a Dynasty called "@ All Colleagues" and you group by country and by city.  This would give you names similar to the following:

@ All Colleagues

@ All Colleagues United States

@ All Colleagues United States San Francisco

Now the SF group already does not fit in the "to" window when viewing the GAL from Outlook (not a big deal for IT folks but you know how users are).  Would there be an issue with changing the name of the "All Colleagues United States San Francisco" group to "@ All Colleagues US SF" ?

Unfortunately, SmartDL doesn't support manually changing the name of a dynasty child.  If you update the child's name manually through ADUC, the child would no longer be a part of the dynasty.  

You could change the beginning of your dynasty name, from "@ All Colleagues" to something shorter.  This is accomplished by opening the properties of the dynasty parent group, and going to the SmartDL tab, click the Options button, then select the Advanced tab.  Changing the Display Name template (and selecting "always inherit selected attributes") will update the names of the dynasty and all children.
