Hello Robert, I am looking for an alternative for our current ActiveGroups.

I 've downloaded the version SmartDL 4.0 SR1, which include Active Groups Importer, but I can't find this tool in the free version nor there is a description of this feature in the manual. How does it work?

You wrote here in the forum, that a new version will have a Powershell snap-in to script the queries. When will this version released?

The Importer is installed with every version but is only available with an eval license or retail license - not the free license.  I think support has to give you a registry key setting to make the option show up in the Tools menu.  I'll ask them to reply.

The PowerShell plug in is available in the next release (5.0) coming next quarter.  It is pretty cool, you can create SmartDL (and regular groups), update them, add/remove members, delete them, etc.  It also includes the ability the modify WebDir group settings (private, public, etc.), which is why it is only available in the new release (it requires changes to some of the backend stuff).
