Imanami Community

My dynasties exist in various structured OU's in my AD. In ADUC I see them all OK but in SmartDL's directory display some of them are missing.  I've tried refreshing but still they're missing. I've opened them up OK in ADUC and they look OK.  Any ideas?

Btw, the names of the OU's are: SmartDL and WebDir. I wonder if this has something to do with it?  Does SmartDL's directory have problems with OU's using these "reserved" names?

 SmartDL does not have a problem with OUs named after Imanami products.  Were both OUs recently created?  If so, did you create them using ADUC or the SmartDL console?

 After a long hiatus I now need to revisit this issue.  The answer to your question: the OUs "SmartDL" and "WebDir" were created using ADUC and not with SmartDL's console. Would this be the reason they're not visible to SmartDL?

What are the OU DN's?  Can you post the full DN of each OU?  I've seen SmartDL choke on a OU that has extended characters but the post SR1 hotfix resolved that issue.

From ADSIEDIT:

OU=SmartDL,DC=ad,DC=emulex,DC=com

OU=WebDir,DC=ad,DC=emulex,DC=com

This is very odd.  Have you checked the permissions on the OU's?  Is there any difference in the permissions between the OU's you can see and the ones that are not showing up?

Just wanted to let u know that this issue has been resolved.  Turns out the instance of SmartDL giving this problem had not been updated to SR1. Once that was done ALL the OU's were visible.  Was this a known issue with the original release of SmartDL 4?

Btw, any update on dates for the next releases of SmartDL and Webdir ?  We're tolerating a growing number of issues that apparetly will be addressed in these next releases.

Hi Henry,

I'm glad to hear you resolved the issue by appling the latest release.  The current release of each product is:

• WebDir 4.0 SR2
• SmartDL 4.0 SR1

Both products have post release hotfixes.  I highly recommend applying the hotfixes for SmartDL as they noticably improve performance.

Which issues are you speaking of?  We need to know about themi to ensure they will be resolved.  I see the picture in search results in our product roadmap.  I see the post about the owner of group not being able to modify a group but I don't see a clear resolution to it.  Did you resolve this yourself?
