    mDBUseDefaults not set

    Hello

When we create a  new exchange account (UserMBE) , the mail box is created but the mDBUseDefaults field (if checked the mailbox use the quotas policy defined for the database ) is not set to "TRUE" as it should be, by default (this field is set to "TRUE" if  an account with mail box is created with microsoft user and computer inetrface).

    Hi Fred,

What version of Exchange are you using?  In Exchange 2003, the RUS is responsible for setting this attribute.

    Exchange 2003 Sp1

The RUS is working correctly when we create a mailbox account with "user and computer GUI" or also with a VB script. This happen only using WEBDIR

    Re: mDBUseDefaults not set

    Hello fredguily,

You are correct. WebDir is not setting the mDBUseDefaults value when a mailbox is created, which is not the expected behavior. I have reported this issue to our engineering team to resolve in a future release of the product (WebDir 5.0).  As a work around, it is possible to set the value after the mailbox is created by checking the "Use default storage quota" checkbox under the Limits tab for the newly created mailbox.

    Re: mDBUseDefaults not set

Thanks for your answer, I know the work around you talk about, but ask this to our user account creation team to "Use default storage quota" is really a source of errors (to see some mailbox with no quotas limit is really an issue )...

if it's an unexpected behavior, why not correct it in a fix or patch ? Webdir 5.0 seems to be postponed often, end of 2007, then mid 2008 (how many time have I heard the "to be resolved in the next release of WebDir" sentence as an answer to my requests ...). So we have to work with an incomplete webdir

    Robin

We don't want to pay for a "private" patch, We already afford a support to Imanami wich should include fix like this, am I wrong ?

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
