Customize or Change Fatal Log On Error

    Hi,

Is there anyway to change to message for a logon error?  the default message is pretty cryptic and intimidating to users.

    Thanks

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

You can't change the message.  Usually the message is displayed when things are going wrong (usually during testing) so we try to provide as much information as possible, which, of course, complicates the message.

Would you mind posting a sample of the existing message and then a sample of what you would like to see the message say?

I should clarify.  The ugly message is when you use a logon container for allowing only users in that container to logon.  If someone who is not in that container tries to logon, you get the Fatal message.

I'd rather have something much simpler, stating 'You do not have authority to log on to the system.'  Or something similar.  The Fatal part of the message is where the users freak and we get panic calls saying the system is down or the like.

    Thanks
