Hi,

I am not able to install smartDL 4.0 on a Windows 2003 Std with SP1. It is giving me a error "An Error occurred while downloading the file http://www.installengine.com/Msiengine30/WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe."

 .Net 2.0 is installed on the server.

Please help....

Hi Sterling,

The SmartDL installer requires Microsoft Installer 3.0 to be installed.  If it is not installed, it installs it by downloading the MS installer from the link:

http://www.installengine.com/Msiengine30/WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe

Download the file above and run it manually.  Then re-run the SDL installer.

Microsoft has released an update to SP1 that should address this problem.  The update can be obtained from Microsoft's website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898715
