HTTP 404 Error is Displayed when Attempting to log into WebDir
| This article applies to: |
|
|
| Symptom |
| When the installation for WebDir 4.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 has completed. You created and configured a WebDir virtual server. When you click on the URL under the general tab to log into the WebDir web page it will display an HTTP 404 file or directory not found error message. You will experience this issue when ASP.NET version 2.0.50727 is prohibited within the Web Service Extensions in IIS (Internet Information Services). |
| Workaround |
| To workaround the issue, open IIS (Internet Information Services) on the machine that WebDir 4.0 is installed. Then click on the Web Service Extensions folder. In the right window pane, select ASP.NET version 2.0.50727 and click on the Allow button (or right click and select allow using the mouse). Then log into WebDir. |
| Status |
| This issue will be resolved in a future release of WebDir. Imanami has confirmed this to be an issue with the above referenced product. |
