    ERR: The license number and/or license key entered is invalid or expired

    This article applies to:

    • OProfile 4.5
    • SmartDL 3.0
    • SmartDL 4.0
    • WebDir 4.0
    • DTM 2.0
    • DTM 3.0

    SYMPTOM

    After entering a valid evaluation license number and license key you receive the following message:

    The license number and/or license key entered is invalid or expired.  please try again.

    NOTE: This problem does not occur if a FULL RETAIL LICENSE is entered.

    This is caused by customizing the Short Date Format in the Regional Settings of the Control Panel to something other than M/d/yyyy.  The Imanami License Manager Library expects the date in the format M/d/yyyy, if it receives the date in a different format, say yyyy-MM-dd for example it will assume the license has expired.

    WORKAROUND

    You can work around the issue by changing the Short Date Format back to the English (United States) default of M/d/yyyy.

    1. Open the Control Panel (Click the Switch to Classic View link on the left if using Windows XP).
    2. Double-click on Regional and Language Options.
    3. Click Customize on the Regional Options tab.
    4. Select the Date tab.
    5. Change the Short date format to "M/d/yyyy" (without the quotes).
    6. Click OK twice.
    7. Launch the application.

    This will be resolved in a future release of the above referenced product.

    STATUS

    Imanami has confirmed this to be a problem with the above referenced product.
